What is a Bible Study

The belief in the transforming power of God’s words given to us in the Bible is central to Christianity.

A bible study is not a bible class where one teaches and others listens, nor a form of sharing where everyone says what he thinks about it.

A bible study is:

  • An in-depth study of what God’s word says about a particular matter.
  • An analysis of what, why, how, when, where, whom.
  • A clear explanation of what the Bible is saying about a particular subject so that it can be understood and applied in such a way that it can become a helpful and practical part of one’s thinking and way of life.
  • One of the most important ways to win souls and minds over to God.

Some good bible studies can be found here:

Bible study is not “a form of sharing where everyone says what he thinks about it.” Two weeks ago, I quit a Bible study I was going to because it was just that. The several men there sat like heavy stones in the sand on a beach: nothing short of a driving hurricane or earthquake (tremendous and overwhelming hardship and trouble) would move them from the feel-good ‘gos-pill’ to live the Gospel. I had to leave. What can happen at a ‘real’ Bible study can be overwhelming too… but in a positive way. God is always ready to show up in a manifest way where two or more gather. (Malachi 3:16-17; Matthew 18:20.)

please choose a different background, it’s difficult for me to read your blog because of the bright stars to the left and all of the points of light to the left and right of your main content. thank you.

also, the nature photos on the right hand side of your blog, even with javascript disabled, load again and again with every new page, they never stop loading, they just keep repeating the same content over and over again.

    thank you.

    • hope this helps! says:

It appears that the NoScript plugin for browsers, when you deselect ‘frames’ from being allowed, stop the infinite loading loop of your nature photos, so it’s something having to do with content in a frame(s) which is the problem. Once you’ve done this in NoScript, the images don’t repeat, because frames content has been disabled.

    On the following page:

there is 1 broken link, to:

I can only assume there are more broken pages/broken links.

Please do a top down review of your past pages and check them for missing content, especially the content from your website, but also links which are broken which would otherwise link to content outside of your website. I do not have the time to do this for you myself or I would.

    • Yes, thank you, we will. There are hundreds of links so it takes the best part of a day but it is something we have to do periodically. We are a little overdue for a check now but will make sure it’s done shortly. We have updated this particular link with the excellent offer by Chick’s to buy all 24 of their English comics for USD60 including shipping to the UK.
