Prayer of Release From Fairy Tales, Nursery Rhymes and Childhood Stories Etc

Father, in the mighty name of your precious son Jesus Christ, I come before you to renounce the love of and break the power on my life of all fairy tales, nursery rhymes, childhood stories, novels, myths, legends, fables, chants, odes, poems, limericks, inappropriate jokes and jesting, riddles, games, old wives tales, superstition based mythologies and folklore, sayings, phrases, idioms and expressions, songs, music, movies, television programmes, cartoons, video and PC games, whether through the internet, the spoken word, books, writings, or teachings. I renounce and break their power in the name of Jesus.

I renounce particularly the love of any of those containing anything specifically cursed, such as wizards, witches, giants, fairies, goblins, leprechauns, gnomes, elves, pixies, imps, in pictures, dolls or puppets, or in any other forms, in the name of Jesus.

I renounce the love of mythical characters, monsters, mythical creatures, dragons, phoenixes, unicorns, satyrs or fauns, owls, frogs or other unclean animals and creatures of the night, or any and all types of mythical, fantasy or demonic characters which can open demonic doorways. in the name of Jesus.

I renounce the love of all superheroes such as ‘Superman’, ‘Spiderman’, ‘Batman’, ‘Captain America’, ‘Power Rangers’, ‘Masters of the Universe’, etc. [name here any specific characters] and anything violent or amoral, in the name of Jesus.

I especially renounce the love of any figures or images used which have connection with heathen worship which you have clearly said in your Word are an abomination to you. I acknowledge that often things which appear innocent have strong occult and idolatrous connections and I ask for your forgiveness in the name of Jesus.

I repent for buying and reading comics, magazines or annuals such as ‘Beano’, ‘Dandy’, ‘Topper’, ‘Eagle’, or ‘Rupert’ (wizardry) and other such publications in the name of Jesus.

I renounce the love of worldly entertainment such as movies, TV programmes, theatres, shows, plays, musicals, pantomimes, cartoons, puppet shows, magicians, circuses, fairs, carnivals, pagan celebrations and festivals (such as Morris dancing, May folk festivities, ‘Punch and Judy’, ) and whatsoever is not of God and does not glorify God, in the name of Jesus.

I renounce and break the power off my life of fairy stories and fables such as ‘Hans Christian Anderson’, ‘Brothers Grimm’, ‘Wizard of Oz’, ‘Peter Pan’, “Aesop’s fables”, and any other such children’s stories. I break their hold and cancel all their effects in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

In the name of Jesus, I renounce the love of any and all Walt Disney films promoting subtle and overt occult agendas, such as magic and witchcraft, disrespect of parents, transexual indoctrination and sexualisation of children, etc. (Any favourites can be mentioned by name, such as ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Bedknobs and Broomsticks’, ‘The Sword in the Stone’, ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Frozen’, etc.).

I break the power of any programming, conditioning, and mind control techniques that I or my family have been subjected to through Disney and other similar such characters, films, books, toys and other merchandise, in the name of Jesus.

I renounce the mythology of all these characters and stories and I break the power of any curses that have come into my life and that of my family due to the fascination of the mythical, mystical, and magical realms in the name of Jesus.

“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.” (1 Cor 10:21)

I renounce these works of darkness and ask that your spirit will shed abroad the light of your love in my heart, in the name of Jesus. I know such things are snares, nets and traps to keep me under demonic influences.

I ask if you would please forgive me and deliver me and my family of any unholy influences which have come about through these associations and by the power of the blood of Jesus and by the power of his name, I bind and break their power.

In the name of Jesus, I ask for forgiveness for myself and my family for having wasted so much of my time and attention on these lying vanities and for any way I have allowed them to influence me.

I undertake to dispose of – destroy, not sell or give away – anything in my home, garden or workplace, that is unclean and so has been cursed by you, according to Deuteronomy 28, including any merchandise related to the above characters and stories.

I ask you please to close any demonic doorways which have been opened through disobeying your word, in the name of Jesus.

I ask that you would uproot all their effects on me or my family, in the name of Jesus.

Father, we thank you for giving us Your Son to destroy the works of the devil. Amen.

Caution is advised: This prayer is really only suitable for those who believe in Jesus Christ the Son of the God as their saviour. We need to be able to walk out our deliverance by turning away from idolatry and not turning back again. If we are living a godly life, with some prayer, praise, thanksgiving, repentance, forgiveness, and studying God’s word, we can get free and stay free of demonic harassment.

Jesus gave a stern warning about this in the form of a story sometimes referred to as “The man who swept his house clean” and also “The return of the evil spirit”:

“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” (Lk 11:23-26)
